The patterns of the brain’s wave shift from the rapid moving beta waves that occurs during normal business hours to steady alpha waves It allows one to empty the mind for a somber rest. The deep relaxation qualities of meditation enable the entire body to heal. With the practice of meditation, stress can be alleviated by tuning out overwhelming thoughts.

Through relaxation, self-esteem and self-confidence may be improved. Use the falling calming techniques to manage stress more efficiently.

Meditation

Select a comfortable and quiet place to recline. While the eyes are closed, breathe deeply. Focus all attentions on the way your body reacts when you breathe. Make note of how the abdomen moves in and out gradually. Be sure to dismiss any other feelings, thoughts and sensations. Each time, the mind starts to drift-off, bring the focus back to your breathing patterns.

Pick up a small sentimental or cherished item (a pen, jewelry, and rosary). Hold it in your hands while assuming a comfortable reclining position. While taking in slow and deep inhalations and exhalations, focus all attention to the object for up minutes. Anytime, upsetting thoughts enter your mind; divert your attention to the cherished item.
